Lula Recheada

(Stuffed Squid)


  • Olive oil

  • 1 onion

  • 1 cup of white wine

  • 1 can of heart of palm (palmito) 400g, chopped

  • 1/2 kg of small prawns

  • Salt, pepper and toothpicks

  • 3 garlic cloves

  • 2 tomatoes without skin and no seeds

  • 8 to 10 squids

  • 1 scoop of plain flour


  • Olive Oil

  • Parsley

  • 1 chopped onion

  • 1 cube of prawn (or fish) stock

  • 3 garlic cloves

  • Pasta sauce


  1. wash the squids properly and season with wine and a bit of garlic

  2. In a pot fry the onion and garlic and than add the chopped tomatoes, prawns, heart of palm, salt and pepper.

  3. Dissolve the flour on wine and add to thicken.

  4. Stuff the squids and close it with toothpicks

  5. Make a sauce with onion, garlic, the pasta sauce and the stock

  6. Add the stuffed squids and cook until it get tender.

  7. To serve take the toothpicks off and sprinkle some chopped parsley on top.
